Karim works as an R&D Technologist at Microchip in the Frequency and Timing Division (FTD).
Karim has about 25 years of extensive experience in the networking and telecommunications industries where he has designed and architected networking and synchronization solutions for IP, ATM, SONET/SDH, MPLS and Optical Networking systems. Prior joining Symmetricom, now Microchip FTD, in 2005, Karim worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at NEC in the Optical Networking Division in Herndon (Virginia). Before joining NEC, Karim was Systems Architect and Technical Lead at Corvis in Columbia (Maryland). Previously, while based in Sophia-Antipolis (France),Karim worked as an IP Expert and Research Manager at SITA-EQUANT (now Orange/France Telecom). Before that, Karim held R&D engineering positions at ASCOM and Lucent technologies in Sophia-Antipolis working on Network Management, ATM and IP.
