Sync Accuracy Challenges in 5G
Wednesday | 11:30 - 11:50 am
5G networks inherently require a certain level of timing accuracy (e.g., to avoid interference in case of TDD networks, or to enable coordinated functions between different base stations) . New architectures and new services are expected to be introduced with the deployment 5G networks with their own specific sync requirements (e.g., Industrial IoT, accurate Positioning, Smart grid). Careful analysis is required on the trade-off between very high sync accuracy and the related cost implications.
This talk will discuss aspects related to the support of services served by 5G and characterized by the most challenging timing needs.
