Three Steps to 5G
Tuesday | 11:55 am - 12:15 pm
The vision for the explosion of applications and connection bandwidths that will be supported by the future 5G networks require significant changes to the architecture of the network. In addition, new technology is offering a route to change the fundamental approach to developing network equipment. This paper will discuss the three major changes that will impact the network in the near future, the reason for these changes and the challenges in implementing these changes. They are:
- The evolution of the backhaul network into front/middle/back-haul.
- The move to Virtualisation and Disaggregation of network equipment.
- Network Slicing
